Net Neutrality

Net neutrality is the concept of fairness with entire internet society. Such as Internet service provider treat all data on the Internet equally, and not discriminate or change differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication.

Commencement of Net Neutrality

This concept is introduced by Professor Tim Wu at Columbia Law School,  Columbia university in 2003. In United States(U.S), in April 2015, the FCC issued its Open Internet Order which reclassified Internet access. In the past classified as an information service as a common carrier telecommunications service. But at 14 December 2017 the Commission void the 2015 Open Internet Order. Classifying Internet access once again as an information service by Ajit Varadaraj Pai director of FCC.

FCC : The Federal Communications Commission is an independent agency of United States (U.S) government created by statute to regulate interstate communication by radio,satellite, cable, television and wire.  

Net Neutrality in India 

Net Neutrality approved in India on August 2015 by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). 

TRAI is an independent regulatory body established by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act 1997 to oversee the telecommunications industry in India.

Possibility if Net Neutrality concept is ignore:

Let us take an example, 

Bicycle track is free to run but for other vehicle road is jam. Now, assume that road maker are Internet Service provider (ISP). Here we can understand that ISP give the free road for bicycle not for other vehicle. And this is partiality other than bicycle.

Another example

IDEA service provider allow his client to access Flipkart.com at high speed but onto Amazon.com give slow speed. It will be partiality with Amazon.com and manipulating the customer to surfing Flipkart.com not Amazon.com. It means customer is bound to shopping on Flipkart.com approx not allow to access Amazon.com

Conclusion                                                                                  

Government of India or TRAI take good decision by implement this Law.
